Five baptism designs: a blue water-drop Story reading Baptism Sunday, a cream and blue post reading Buried with Christ, a yellow post reading Ready to say yes, a blue bulletin insert and a green Baptism Sunday event card.

What should a church post for Baptism Sunday?

Post three things: an announcement a few weeks ahead with how to sign up, a reminder the week before, and a celebration after. Ask each person, or a child's parent, before you post a name or a photo.

  • Announce four weeks ahead, remind people the week before and post the celebration the day of or the day after.
  • A baptism announcement needs the date, the service times, how to sign up and what to bring.
  • Sizes in Design: Square 1080 × 1080, Story 1080 × 1920 and Half-letter 5.5 × 8.5 in for a bulletin insert.
  • Get permission before posting photos or names, and for children from a parent or guardian. Design is free with any account.

A baptism posting plan.

Five posts to make and post yourself, counted back from an example Baptism Sunday on 2 May 2027. Swap in your own date.

  1. Sunday 4 April

    The announcement

Four weeks out, the date, the services and how to sign up. Say plainly that anyone who follows Jesus can ask to be baptized.

  2. Sunday 18 April

    The meeting

Two weeks out, remind candidates and parents of the baptism class or meeting, with the day, the time and the room.

  3. Sunday 25 April

    What to bring

A week out: a towel, a change of clothes, and when to arrive. People worry about the details, so say them.

  4. Sunday 2 May

    Baptism Sunday

A morning post with the service times. After the service, post the celebration with a Scripture and no names unless the person said yes.

  5. Monday 3 May

    Celebrate and invite

Thank the families, share one line from the testimony with permission and say when the next baptism is.

A note on photos, names and consent.

Baptism is personal, and many baptisms involve children. This is general church practice drawn from published church photography policies, not legal advice, and rules differ by country.

  • Ask the person first

Did they say yes to being posted?

An adult can decide for themselves. Ask before you share a name, a photo or a testimony, and accept a no.

  • A parent decides for a child

Do we have a parent's or guardian's permission?

Children cannot give consent for themselves. Many church policies require a parent or guardian to agree before an identifiable child is posted.

  • Say what and for how long

Does the permission say where it will be used?

Good policies state the purpose, such as the church's social media, and how long the image stays up.

  • Choose safer photos

Can the shot be a group, or from behind?

Close-ups of children can be downloaded and misused. A group photo, a wide shot or the water itself tells the story.

  • Skip the name

Does the post need a child's name at all?

Policies often advise against pairing a child's photo with a name or other details. Say a baptism happened, not whose.

  • Make it easy to take down

Who do we tell if someone changes their mind?

Put one contact in your photo policy, and remove a post promptly when asked.
