Free usually comes with conditions. Ask these six questions of any free church graphic, from any source, and keep a note of the answers.

  • Church use

Does it say churches may use it in services, on social media and on a livestream?

Some free packs are for personal use or in-room use only. Look for the places you will really post it.

  • Attribution

Do you have to credit the creator, and where does the credit go?

A credit line can be fine on a website and awkward on a square post. Know before you design around it.

  • Editing

May you change the words, colors and photo?

A graphic you cannot edit is only useful if it already says what you need to say.

  • Commercial use

May you use it for an event that sells tickets or raises money?

Many licenses separate church and ministry use from anything commercial. A fundraiser dinner can sit on the line.

  • Sharing the file

May you pass the file to another church or a printer, or only use it yourself?

Redistribution is the most common thing free licenses rule out. Sending a flyer file to a partner church counts.

  • How long it stays free

Is it free for good, or a trial, or a few downloads a month?

A free trial or a monthly download cap is not the same as a free library. Check what happens after the first month.
