When to start

  • Our planning figures, not a published standard: volunteer schedule set 8 weeks before a big Sunday, graphics started 6 weeks before, invitations out 4 weeks before, and about two weeks to shoot, edit and review a short video.
  • Counted from Easter that is January 31, February 14 and February 28. Counted from Advent Sunday it is October 3, October 17 and October 31. Counted from Christmas Eve it is October 29, November 12 and November 26, and Christmas invitations are ordered by US Thanksgiving, November 25.
  • One person owns the calendar and a backup knows where it lives.

For your church

  • Churches that follow the liturgical year can plan its seasons; others cross out what they do not keep.
  • There is a dated Orthodox page and lines for the US, Canada and the UK where civil dates differ.
