Church media volunteer gives 50 churches his software free
A Canadian developer and church media volunteer since 2019 is giving the first 50 accepted churches the Growth plan free for 12 months.

David, a software developer in Edmonton, Canada, is giving the first 50 accepted churches the full Growth plan of Church Media Kit free for 12 months. The plan is normally US$59 a month. No credit card is needed, and nothing is charged when the year ends. Churches apply on the Fifty Churches page.
The Canadian developer behind the offer
David has volunteered on media at his church since 2019. He has run sound and camera, taken photos and posted to social media. In his letter to churches he describes "the Sunday feeling": the service ends, and there are slides to fix, posts to write and clips to cut, usually with one or two tired volunteers.
A church media volunteer built the tool he wished he had
Knowing that feeling firsthand, he built Church Media Kit. You paste your sermon once, and the slides, posts and clips are drafted for you to edit and share. A person at your church reviews everything and posts it.
It has seven tools:
- Sermon Slides builds an editable slide deck from your sermon or notes, with your scripture.
- Sermon to Social turns a sermon on YouTube into a week of draft Facebook and Instagram posts in your church's colors, fonts and logo.
- Sermon Uploads turns a sermon video into short captioned vertical clips and written pieces such as a summary and discussion questions.
- Verse of the Day gives you a new Bible verse design every day.
- Backgrounds is a library of worship backgrounds for song lyrics.
- Design lets you edit any graphic in your browser with your church's look.
- Church in bio is a simple church web page with your service times and directions, for your Instagram and Facebook bio.
Why the solo developer isn't charging these 50 churches
The Growth plan is normally US$59 a month. David is giving these 50 churches the plan free for 12 months instead. In his words: "I'm one person. I can look after 50 churches well." He also wants real churches, on real Sundays, to tell him what's broken, so the year is free in exchange for feedback.
Only 50 churches, and the one catch
The limit is 50 because that is how many churches David says he can look after well. The catch is a short ask:
- Set up your first sermon within 7 days. If you haven't by day 7, he checks in once by email.
- On day 30, tell David what worked and what didn't. You'll have his direct email to reply to.
- If the timing isn't right, your spot passes to the next church on the list, and you can still start free.
If you want help, there is an optional 30-minute Google Meet call to set up your first sermon together. David describes it as a setup call, not a sales call.
When the 12 months end, the free year simply stops. Nothing is charged, it never turns into a paid plan, and you keep what you made. Your church web page (the link-in-bio page made with Church in bio) stays online only with a plan; plans start at US$29.95 a month on the pricing page.
One volunteer, not a church media team
Church media is often one or two volunteers, not a church media team. Church Media Kit gives that volunteer drafts to start from, and they stay in charge of what gets posted. The free Growth plan refills every month with:
- 11 sermons, each turned into a week of draft posts
- 10 slide decks
- 5 team seats
The Fifty Churches page lists the full plan.
How to apply
Any church with weekly services can apply, big or small, with one named media contact. The form says it takes 2 minutes. David reads every application himself and replies within 24 hours. Apply on the Fifty Churches page.
Not one of the 50? You can sign up free with no card and try each sermon app once.
